Fish Catches

We require all proprietors of fishing rights in Argyll to complete an annual catch return, detailing the numbers of salmon and sea trout caught and whether they were released or killed. This catch return is different from the return that Marine Scotland also request from proprietors. Since we do not have access to the information Marine Scotland collects it is important that we receive our completed catch returns as soon as possible after the season ends each year. The figures are used to assess fish population health in the rivers and lochs so that future management can be targeted where it is most needed.

Below you will find catch return data for Argyll by river/loch. Included are numbers of salmon, grilse, sea trout and finnock caught, with percentage of fish returned (released). Percentages of catch return forms received and the numbers of nil returns are also listed.
